Your Pain Has Purpose

Isaiah 61:7 “God will give you double for your trouble...”

Anytime someone experiences pain or suffering of any sort, they may think that they have bad luck, is cursed or maybe doing something wrong to cause themselves suffering, but God uses our pain for a purpose. If you are a Believer in Christ, there will be some things that God will allow to happen to us so that He can use it for our good. That bad decision, that divorce, the rejection, the failure of a business, the betrayal, the unfair situations, is not a surprise to God. Each day of your life was carefully thought out and planned by Him and He uses those situations to develop, strengthen and mature us for the promise. The good news is that your promises will outweigh the pain. He sees you. He hears you and it is not over for you.

James 1:2-4 says (paraphrasing) to count it all joy when you face trials of many kinds because the testing of your faith produces patience or perseverance. Let patience finish its work in you so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. That test or trial that you are in right now, is producing patience. God needs to develop some things in us before He can bless us with certain things because He should get the glory out of our lives. It’s only in Him that we move, live and have our being. He knows that if He gives it to you before the development, then it could destroy you or may even cause more suffering. That’s why it pays to wait on God and go through the journey so that you can come out mature and complete. You may ask, what does it mean to be complete? It means that when you receive your promises, there will be no sorrow added to it. You will have joy, peace, love and maybe even another level of prosperity. It pays to trust God, wait on God and go through your journey believing that all things are working for your good.

God loves you so much that if you can just trust Him in the pain, He promises to give you double for your trouble. This is why He says to consider it joy because it’s not the end. God has not forgotten about you. God promises in Isaiah 61:7, “Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.” He is not just going to repay you for every wrong done, He’s going to go above and beyond what you could ever ask for or think. I don’t know about you, but I trust God, knowing that He is working it all out for our good! He is the God of restoration. ❤️
